What determines how we perceive different types of music?

HI
Music can bring out such strong and mixed emotions from every listener. A listener also appreciates certain music over other. A listener will find some music to be horribly and some music to be great. What determines a listener to perceived a piece of music to be a great work of art? What determines a listener to perceive a piece of music to have no beauty?
It seems music has to be structured right in order for a listener to appreciate it. A music with wrong structure, whether is be bad rhythm or bad placement of noted, becomes a burden to listen to. What in our minds determines the structure that music has to have in order to to be appreciated? Please explain why.

Music, smells, and in fact, all that you perceive, is evaluated with respect to perceived association to hopes and threats. All you choose to do is determined entirely upon your perception of hopes and threats.

With music, a “soft” sound is a sound void of sharp changes or disturbing pitch or rhythm. Soft music gradually flows from one sound to another, giving time for the mind to settle and predict. Soft music is appreciated by those seeking to relax and be free from the worry of what is happening, what threats might need attending, free from anxiety. This is inspired by subconscious indecision resulting from neurological discomfort.

But some have associated sharp and unexpected changes with hope of something different, distracting, and thus good from what they have perceived to be the bad and threatening of the norm and predictable. Such people appreciate the obtuse, chaotic, altering rhythms and hold disdain for the predictable, slow, and mundane. This is inspired by neurological discomfort seeking strong distraction.

Music, like smells, communicate to the emotional or subconscious mind as they are directly perceived rather than consciously deduced. The subconscious sees no need to ask of the conscious for evaluation and thus the hypnosis effect comes into play as the conscious evaluation mechanism is left out of the loop. Thus the media uses music in its hypnosis campaign to persuade the masses and give influence and power to social engineers providing the design of society’s new structure. The types of music being promoted tells of the direction preferred by the social architects at any one time.

At least one person thinks all music is sacred. This is so because there are no musical notes in the Bible. Rick Warren.
