What do I do with my mother's gallstones?

She kept them, I inherited them. I have been holding onto them for 25 years, not knowing what to do with them. I can’t just throw them away. Should I go to her grave and lift up a tuft of grass and bury them there? I know this is stupid but I don’t want to bury them in my backyard either. It’s just starting to bug me that I have some of her body parts in my closet. Serious question.

It is not necessary for you to keep your mother’s gallstones, and you need not scruple over throwing them away. It would be as if you had inherited old toenail clippings. Feel free to dispose of them in any safe, legal, and responsible manner that you wish.
