What does "Erin" mean?

#1

Hello,
My name is Cory and am fairly new to the catholic faith. I have a quick question concerning the rosery. I have a set of rosery beads made from Ireland, and on the back of the crucifix, the name “erin” is enscribed on it. My question is, what is the meaning of “erin” on this particular rosery? Thank you for taking the time to read my question and hope that this can be answered.

Hi,

This is what Wikipedia says about it:

“Erin is a Hiberno-English derivative of the Irish word “Éirinn”. (“Éirinn” is the dative case of the Irish word for Ireland - “Éire”, genitive “Éireann”)”
