What is Catholic doctrine say about San Simeon (AKA Maximon) of Guatemala?

This (Saint ?) Was mentioned by a Protestant minister in a sermon that I listened to. He was inferring that this idol in Guatemala, with a statue next to a Catholic Church was indeed a recognized Saint in the Roman Catholic religion. Surely that’s not true. Any references to this subject would be welcomed.

No, that “saint” is not a saint of the Catholic Church. It is believed to be a mythological figure from pre-Christian times that survived through various folklore traditions. It has nothing to do with Catholicism.
