What is NFP

#1

What is it? How is it different to contraception?

NFP is a way of using signs in a women’s body to determine when ovulation takes place. When we know this we can choose to engage in or abstain from intercourse according to whether or not conception is desired at that time.

NFP is not only used by Catholics, and it is not only used to prevent conception. Many people seeking to conceive use the methods of NFP to predict ovulation. Many people seeking to live a natural life style also use it.
