What is the Catholic Church's position on cremation?

My father was in the Air Force, and I have lived all over the world. After getting drafted in the Army, I was sent to Atlanta Ga. After being Honorably Discharged, I got a job, I met my wife and lived there for 30 years. My company (Lockheed Martin) transferred me to West Virginia to do work on a contract with the FBI. I have been here 7 years. My point in all this is that I come from everywhere and really belong nowhere. So: what is the Church’s position on getting cremated after death?
