What is the Catholic Church's stance on Santa Muerte?

I’ve seen a lot of people in my neighborhood with Santa muete necklaces, I know it means saint of death and I was just wondering if the church recognizes Santa muerte as an actual saint

No, the Catholic Church does not recognize “santa muerta” and opposes any veneration of it. This cult has been tied to violent gangs and cartels and is not a genuine devotion of Catholicism.

According to a statement by Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Mexico City on November 3, 2008, popular devotion to the so-called “Saint Death” is not compatible with the Catholic faith.
