What is the Church's position on national sovereignty?

Does the Church support a specific view by which we determine how nations derive their legitimacy? This question seems quite important in light of controversies surrounding Catalonia, Tibet, Israel/Palestine and even Hong Kong.

some think the US should have no boundaries, certainly no wall

Can we support everyone in the world?

no, we cannot. So we should focus on “family” which is US citizens (first)

if someone wants to come to this country, fine… do it legally.

i don’t get why people have so much “compassion” on those who break the law to get what they want

oh, yeh, that’s right, they (the liberals) do that all the time…
