What is the name of the holy sink in every Catholic churches sacristy?
The sink is called a sacrarium. This pipes from this sink do not go into the sewer lines or mix with other refuse. The pipes go directly into the ground. This sink is used to purify sacred vessels or dispose of dissolved hosts. The sacrarium has also been used for the disposal of other substances: old baptismal water, leftover ashes, and last year’s holy oils.
