What is the proper way to refer to Pope John Paul II?

Do we refer to him as “St. John Paul II” or do we refer to him as “St. Pope John Paul II”?

He’s ordinarily referred to as St. John Paul II because he is no longer the reigning pope. If there is a need to use the title of “Pope” though, it goes before the title “Saint,” as in “Pope St. John Paul II.”
