In the book of james it says faith is dead without works. I know faith is trust, but what exactly is works?
Feed the hungry, clothe the naked, care for the sick…
It’s not enough to just believe. You have to act like a member of the family. There are a lot of things the Bible, and Sacred Tradition tell us to do. Receive the Sacraments worthily, obey the commandments, love each other - take care of each other, spread the gospel, pray…
The marriage analogy works here:
Man tells his wife he loves her–spends paycheck and free time at the bar, beats her, etc. (bad husband list)
Man tells his wife he loves her–gives himself entirely to her, thinks of her needs, etc (perfect husband list)
Which man loves his wife?
To say you have faith in Jesus is nothing if you don’t love him. Your works are how you love him. “Whatever you do for the least of these, you do for me”

If you trust God, you will do as he says.
