WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF THE MASS

#1

What brings the most happiness to you at Mass?

#2

Personally I like the prayers best. :gopray2:

#3

Come on, you can’t be serious?

It’s the EUCHARIST!!!

The source and summit of our faith, Christ present in Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. Can anything else compare?

#4

It would be tough to decide between the beauty of the consecration and actually going to communion.

#5

Now Now Big L:

As you can see in this short time … Poisson has a different view.

Let’s be charitable. I am with you, the EUCHARIST is where I get my greatest satisfaction! But not everyone is the same!

Have a wonderful and Holy Day,

Moe

I guess the thing is for me when I’m saying the prayers, creed, Gloria etc… I feel like I am giving to God, with the Eucharist I feel like I receiving from God. Both are good and wonderful things but not the same. One of the reason that I don’t get a great feeling during communion is the general irreverence shown by many people when receiving.

#7

No offense, Poisson. I wasn’t commenting on your post specifically, just on the forum in general.

Hi Again:

Yes, I agree. But to be honest with you … how many people do you think really, really, really believe what is happening when they receive the Eucharists.

If you ever listen to Fr. Larry at frlarry.com - his tape on THE MASS EXPLAINED … he says that if people truly believe that Jesus Christ was present in the Eurcharist, we would all FALL DOWN ON OUR FACES …prior to receiving him.

I love the new rubrics and what we need to do prior to receiving our Lord … even my husband who isn’t Catholic agrees people need must more reverance and respect going to to receive the Eucharists!

Thanks for your post: thumbsup:

Oh, thanks … :frowning:

There is a reason for my poll! I loved the insight poison had … it really made sense WHY the Eucharist wasn’t their main focus!

All of it … It’s the build up, the sense of anticipation, knowing that God Himself is going to come into me and everyone else who is there to receive. It’s the whole experience – whether at a said Latin rite daily Mass or at a Byzantine rite Hierarchical Divine Liturgy with all the stops pulled. WOW!!!

#11

The Eucharist, hands down.

I say this even though I have not officially received the sacraments yet. My years attending my mom’s Protestant church has ripped me of this experience for far too long.

#12

 what’s holding you back … you are missing out on such wonders of our Lord!

#13

I have the tape
I would estimate that over 90% of the people in the pews would have no idea what you are talking about when you use the term “real presence”.
This is something I bring up with those who think kneeling before consecration is not a big deal. I say if Jesus would appear in flesh and blood before you what kind of posture would you take? (I usually get “Huh?”) I say I would be on my knees praying for mercy because I am a sinner.
That’s another reason I like saying “I confess to almighty God and…”

Thread hijack!

Archbishop, you must be planning on going through RCIA? What a joy it will be when you are received into the Church!

And, I love your sig!

Back to the thread: Eucharist!

That would be “POISSON” one little letter, big difference.

so sorry …

Isn’t Fr. Larry awesome! I think he is unbelievable. He is only 43!

His sermons are wonderful. He is the one that got me marking my readings in my bible and taking the bible to read at Mass. It is so fulfilling!

Again, sorry about the MisSPELLING!

I voted for singing cause it asked what was my favorite part not my most important part (that would be the Eucharist)

Singing is twice praying I heard… :yup:

I’ve heard it once called the “bearaucracy of Christ”, aka RCIA. No disrespect to the Church, of course, but the thought of having to go to RCIA when I know enough to talk about the Council of Trent for an hour is quite frustrating.

So, that would answer Panis Angelicus’ question also.

 You have to go to the right RCIA … there ARE  some out there you know! Scott Hahn knew so much, he just got general instruction from his priest … maybe that would be the road to take … I don’t know you background though … Scott Hahn had a PHD in theology!

Thanks for Sharing!
