What scripture have you found meaningfully and inspiration

What scripture have you found meaningfully and inspirational ?

For example some people find romans 10- 8-9-10.

Or romans .all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God

Or . guard your heart because …

For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

-Isaiah 55: 8-9

I love the letters of St. Paul - they are rich theologically but also very inspired, poetic. Definitely one of the high points. I also love the four Gospels - especially Matthew and John, for different reasons. The two letters of Peter are very good too; I don’t read them a lot and tend to overlook them. I should read them more. The Psalms of course - 91 is my favorite. Job. Isaiah. Proverbs. Book of Wisdom.

I love this verse, I have many - this one just comes to mind.

“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31

My ways are not your ways .

Is a classic. . thanks

And evening came, and morning followed…

Put me like a seal over your heart,
Like a seal on your arm.
For love is as strong as death,
Devotion is as severe as Sheol;
Its flashes are flashes of fire,
The very flame of the God
Great floods cannot quench love,
Nor will rivers overflow it;
If a man were to give all the riches of his house for love,
he would be roundly mocked.”
Canticles 8:6-7

Yes saint Paul has application of prayers. Like in Ephesus
"That the eyes of your understanding will be enlightened . "

"…teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. 13 And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age."

Matthew 28: 20

My God, My God, why have you forsaken Me

Psalm 46:10

Be still and know that I am God; I shall be exalted in the earth and I shall be exalted among the heathen.

My favorite Psalm is Psalm 23.

Psalm 144:1

Blessed be the Lord my rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers to battle.

Psalm 22:16 - . . . dogs have surrounded me . . . .
Job 30:29 - . . . . . I was the brother of dragons . . .

Genesis 4:7 . . .sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you,
but you must master it!

Hebrew 12:6 - For those whom the Lord loves he disciplines, and he scourges every son whom he receives.

Revelation 3:21 - To him that shall overcome, I will give to sit with me in my throne
as I also have overcome and am set down with my Father in his throne.

Revelation 21:5 - And he that sat on the throne, said: Behold, I make all things new.

The scripture I find most meaningful and inspirational is usually the one I happen to be reading at the time…so I would say the most meaningful and inspirational parts are between (and including) Genesis 1:1 and Revelation 22:21!:blush:

Psalm 62:1-2
In God alone there is rest for my soul, from him comes my safety;
he alone is my rock, my safety, my stronghold so that I stand unshaken.

ONLY IN GOD IS MY SOUL AT REST. I will have this engraved on my tombstone.

Wow. So far we have 15 posts and no one has yet gone to JN 3:16.
For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son…

“Man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of God”, was very intellectually inspirational to me. It helped to “open my eyes”.

Yes, readings from St. Paul always get to me, no matter how distracted, what mood I am in in Church. I mean get to me in a positive way, wake me up. Bring my focus back to why I am there.

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, on your own intelligence do not rely;
In all your ways be mindful of him, and he will make straight your paths.

John 6:66-70
As a result of this, many [of] his disciples returned to their former way of life and no longer accompanied him.
Jesus then said to the Twelve, “Do you also want to leave?”
Simon Peter answered him, “Master, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.
We have come to believe and are convinced that you are the Holy One of God.”

John 21:18
Amen, amen, I say to you when you were younger, you used to dress yourself and go where you wanted; but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.”

Psalm 51 - said every Friday as part of the LOTH.
