What word does Christ actually use here?

Hello,

I have heard that in the Gospel of John when Christ says “Unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood you have no life within you,” the word He uses for “to eat” actually means something more like the rather graphic “to chew” or “to gnaw” when translated into English. Is this true? Also, if this is indeed so, what is the exact Hebrew/Aramaic word He is using?

Thank you!
