Where can I learn to chant online

Anybody know a site where I can download notations for chant with mp3’s so that i can learn how to do it? If possible, English translations for the prayers (unless they are psalms, in which case I can look them up in my Bible) would also be useful.

Thanks,
David

One of many:
christusrex.org/www2/cantgreg/cantos_selec_eng.html

And the main page to which this link belongs:
christusrex.org/www2/cantgreg/index_eng.html

Or:

interletras.com/canticum/Eng/index1_Eng.html

Or:
comp.uark.edu/~rlee/chant.html

(Gregorian Schola of St Joseph Parish, Arkansas)

Margita,

Thanks for these links. Much appreciated.

My pleasure.

'key so here are two more:

lphrc.org/Chant/ (notation made easy - )

beaufort.demon.co.uk/chant.htm (Gregorian Association, London - just about everything you need)

gregorian-chant.info/ ( )

Enjoy!

Thanks for all the many links.

David

Here’s one that has recordings of chants:

198.62.75.1/www2/cantgreg/index_eng.html

Does anybody have any links to tutorials in learning the eight psalm tones?
The last one Margrita posted only had four, and the cantor is really bad at singing… Not to be picky or anything… :stuck_out_tongue:

Maybe here, are you looking for a sound file or notation? This site has the notation in pdf format, on the left side, scroll down!

ceciliaschola.org/

I don’t really have time for much now, but here’s a bunch of links, just to get you started:

listen.to/plainchant

The site itself is very informative!

This is perhaps the best set of mp3 files - from the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music!
liturgica.com/cart/musicInfo.jsp?catNo=AB001

(a bit slow)

OK so for sound files, this seems to be quite rich:
comp.uark.edu/~rlee/midi/

Thanks, Margita!
That pdf of the psalm tones was really helpful!!!
I’ve been looking for something like that for many, many months, and YAY!
Thanks a lot!!!
