Which nature of Jesus died on the cross?

I would like to know if Jesus had God nature when he died on the cross and if so can you please explain is it possible that God can die?
When we receive Jesus in the communion do we receive his body and blood as God and human nature?
Thank you for your answer,
Jean

Hi,

In His human nature, Jesus died; but not in His divine nature. As a human he could die, but He could not die as God. When we receive Him in Holy Communion, we receive the whole Person of Jesus Christ, true God and true man. His human nature does not exist apart from Hid divine nature.
