Which parish?

My husband and I are having a disagreement. Since we moved, we haven’t yet joined a new parish. I like a certain church (not too far away, just a 10 minute drive) based on the priests, the building, the music, a lot of things. Mainly I love the priest’s homilies. And it’s an old-fashioned building.

But we are only 2 minutes away from another church. It’s one of these modern churches. It looks like a warehouse. The tabernacle seems to be in an odd place, I don’t know, I just like the other church better.

My husband says God put us in this parish and we should go there. This is one reason that we haven’t officially joined a parish. Is it OK to go to the one farther away?

Dear love,

The new code of canon law does not require that you attend the nearest parish. Go where you are fed.
