Who is allowed to give a homily?

My church parish is offering a mission in conjuntion with a local Episcopal and Methodist churches - in the form of pot luck dinners, talks, and fellowship. Today at the 4 PM Mass, 2 of the pastors attended, and after the gospel the pastor from the Methodist church who is also a lady, gave a homily. Is this allowed or is it considered a homily, etc.?
Thank you,
