Who or what is the son of man?

Jesus often referred to himself as this but God calls Ezekiel this in his book.

Interestingly in Hebrew, son of man is ben-Adam so you could possibly read it as Jesus being the son of Adam, a son of the first man.

Modern Catholic Dictionary, Son of Man

The most frequently used title of Christ in the New Testament, occurring eighty-two times and, all but once (Acts 7:56), in the Gospels. A messianic title (Daniel 7:2-14), it identifies the heavenly transcendence of the Savior while stressing his humanity, in contrast with the “Son of God,” which emphasizes his divinity.

Yes, I agree. Daniel is a pivotal book from the OT, and we can’t fully understand the NT until we dig into Daniel. Jesus kept calling himself the Son of Man, which is a reference to Daniel 7, and reveals that he is both human and divine.
