Why can't Catholics be Masons?

I’ve a Catholic friend who’s receiving his 33d degree Masonic level or whatever it’s entitled. Please explain to me again, why we as Catholics are to refrain from becoming Masons. I need to counter his argument. I believe it has something to do w/the Mason’s denial with some tenant of our faith, the Trinity or something to that effect. Thank you. Be blessed.
