Why did Jesus?

Hi everybody,
I have been asked why Jesus yelled out on the cross…
"My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?

Psalm 22  Here’s more info:forums.catholic.com/showthread.php?t=136797

Thank you for your reply

Yes, Jesus is reciting Psalm 22.

If you were to hear someone say, “We the people of the United States”…you would automatically be forwarded to think of the Preamble. People did not carry bibles back then so it was just necessary to say the opennning line to help someone recall a bigger message.

In Christ!

By the way, many fundamentalist believe God left Jesus and just a man remained dying on the Cross. No so! The human race would be in a heap of trouble if it was only a man that died for our sins.

Actually, most Australians probably wouldn’t know what you were referring to if we heard you say that!

This is correct, its like saying
’Oh Atreyu, are you marrying your cousin’
Which is a really bad Aussie Tasmanian joke.
Sorry Atreyu, couldnt help myself :stuck_out_tongue:
All the best for your upcoming wedding and thank you all for your resposes…

Gee thanks Dolphin :stuck_out_tongue: Let me just ask my other head what he thinks of that one… Yep, he liked it too

Wow, 2 heads… you really fit the bill dont you :stuck_out_tongue:

Once again, all the best with your wedding.
