Why have Expostition when the Lord is just as present in the tabernacle?

A priest told a friend that it is the same to adore Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament in a closed tabernacle as it is to adore Him exposed in a monstrance at an Adoration devotion. " So", he said, “it is no big deal if we don’t have Adoration at our parish” Can you explain the difference? Thank you.

Dear P,

Granted, the Lord is truly present in the tabernacle. I spend an hour before the tabernacle each day. But when the Eucharist is exposed, more people are drawn to adore Him in this way. The Holy Father, along with many, many saints agree. See: pjp2ea.org/pjp2ea/WhatisEA.asp
