Why isn't the standard wedding march used in Catholic weddings?

Why is it that the typical wedding song is not used during the processional at Catholic weddings?

If you are referring to “The Wedding March” from Richard Wagner’s opera Lohengrin, it is not often used for the processionals in Catholic weddings because it is considered secular music. The processional is part of the Catholic nuptial liturgy and so the music should be liturgical in nature. It is true that some parishes are more lenient on this matter than others, but many do hold firm to the ideal that wedding music should be ecclesial in nature. The wedding music coordinator at a local Catholic parish can help a couple choose processional music that is liturgical and appropriate to the occasion.
