I told my dentist about a month ago that I stopped stopped smoking (I’ve smoked two cigars, the last one was back in March), would it be morally licit of me to change my mind and have another? Would I be a hypocrite if I smoked again?
Not really. You weren’t trying to represent yourself as a nonsmoker for ulterior reasons, you were just answering a clinical question.
Not unless you made a solemn vow to quit, or boasted about quitting to others. Quoth Mark Twain: “Quitting smoking is easy, I’ve done it hundreds of times.”
I liked that - made me chuckle.:)
