Your favourite religious habit *OFFICIAL THREAD*

A little while ago there was a thread discussing odd or strange religious habits. This thread is for posting a picture of your favourite habit, and a picture of it. I don’t know why, but the topic interests me :stuck_out_tongue:

God Bless :signofcross::byzsoc:

Here is one of my favorite; Sisters of Mary Mother of the Church.

Eh, I don’t have a definitive list, but here are some of my favorites Franciscan Brothers Minor (Not Order of the Friars Minor), Carmelite Monks in Wyoming, Dominican Friars, Knights of the Holy Eucharist, Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, Franciscan Missionaries of the Eternal Word, Benedictine Monks, Trappist Monks, I should probably stop myself before I name off every Community I know.

I would provide links and pictures but unfortunately I must go.

They wear these huge black boots with it

And of course, the Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration

That of the Carthusian Order

(hey thats my favorite Order too…)

Actually, I believe they are Templar variants. I’ll have to check again…

The black one is of the Hospitalers…

The Dominican nuns  I will try to find a picture. Some Dominican nuns used to come to a Mass we attended many years ago, and they would be all in a line and look just lovely!

These are so cool! I’ve never seen them before. I love the red and black.

Poor Handmaids of Jesus Christ who were my teachers in school.

I like the Redemptorist’s garb, though they are not a religious order.

That’s their habit? And, I take it, their version of the orans position? Two words: Awe. Some.

The choir dress of the spiritual family “The Work”, with it’s crown of thorns and the oil lamps (recalling the parable of the wise virgins):

Call me simple, but I really like the Augustinian Friar habit.

The one I wear, especially when we wear the white mantle.

Pics from my solemn profession. I am third from the left in the front row in the first and I am the second from the left laying down during the litany of saints in the second.

Friar David,

Thanks so much for sharing pictures of your solemn profession. What a special day!

The habits with the white mantles are beautiful.

I myself am partial to the habits of the discalced Carmelite nuns probably because I love St Teresa and St. Therese. .

This one is lovely!
